Terms of use for the Contentwise service
The rules of the road, in the order a new user meets them.
From sign-up to the first call
- 1
Create an account
Sign in with Google. One person, one account, and you are responsible for activity under it.
- 2
Receive the starter credit
New accounts get $100 of free credit, equal to 1,000,000 credits, with no card required.
- 3
Call the API
Pass your key in the request or in an Authorization header. Each call is billed once, whatever the number of rows returned.
- 4
Top up when needed
Add credit in USDT (TRC-20) from the account page. A call with no credit left returns HTTP 402.
What the data is, and is not
The service returns link data from our own index. It refreshes roughly once a month, so results can lag the live web.
Domain Rating is our own metric. It is not the Domain Rating of Ahrefs, nor Moz Domain Authority, and it should not be quoted as if it were.
We offer the data as it is. We do not promise that any figure is complete, and we do not promise any ranking, traffic or revenue outcome from using it.
Acceptable use
Keep keys private
A leaked key spends your balance. Rotate it if you suspect exposure.
No abuse of the API
Do not use the service to attack, overload or disrupt it, or to resell raw access to others without agreement.
No unlawful use
Use the data for lawful work only.
Changes and contact
We may change the service, its prices or these terms. The date at the top of the page shows the latest revision.
We may suspend an account that breaks these rules. For questions, use the account page.
Read how we handle personal details in the privacy notes.
Before you automate
- Test a new script on the free actions first
- Store the key as an environment variable
- Handle HTTP 401 and HTTP 402 explicitly
- Log the _credits value, so spending is visible
- Expect the data to be about a month old
Liability in plain words
The service is provided as it stands. No more. We are not responsible for decisions you make from the numbers, such as deleting a page. Use judgment, and keep a backup of anything you remove.
Nothing here creates a partnership or an employment relationship between you and Contentwise.
Questions about these terms
Use the account page. State your question briefly, and we will read it. Keep a copy of anything you rely on, because this page can change.
